A very good poem for this contest, good luck. Your poem will probably be up against some prose and very few if any poems, that may work to your advantage. As I read the poem, I was hoping for the last verse to be somewhat optimistic. If the only hope is to pray for God to intervene, I think that is a real long shot. Good Work.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. I enjoyed reading and completely agree. I am positive Martin Luther King Jr. would be completely upset with what is happening in the US today. I do hope people start waking up.

Dr. King's dream is not dead, though it is under threat. The good news is, God is not finished with us yet. His word has promised that he will destroy the father of hate. We have no need to fear, it will not be late.

An excellent presentation.
Sadly, some are ingrained. There is a will to be as one is taught, where conscience itself no longer has a part, for self-will and hate becomes the norm.

I'm in Georgia where Dr. King was born. I don't think enough people understand the great impact this young preacher had on the world.

I'm from up north where Dr. King was not very popular, but, to me, he was one of the most important men this country ever had.
