Dear Gypsy, good paradox (I think that's the word) for "cling" at the beginning and "to let go" at the end. It was a mournful picture, here where I live a couple of people I know have been widowed (one in May 2021, the other in Jan. 2022) I felt the pain in this poem. Dove

A beautiful poem about mourning and the need to ultimately let go and it is written from such a different angle-spirits clinging to headstones, waiting to be released. Very nice.

Darkly beautiful piece of writing. Made me glad to be back on the site. Does make me wonder if my continued grief is holding some dear friends and family back from going somewhere better. Thanks for the read!

A most eerie poem you shared with us Gypsy!
Dean K would be proud of the same.
Yes, the old marble gravestone is reluctant to give up its soul. The spirits do linger.

I like this poem. It is very deep- multi leveled -loaded with hundreds of different human belief constructs having to do with time and the spirits journey. Fortunately? Time probably isn't an issue for the spirit? Very thought provoking poem for those still in form. Good job.

Yes, Marival, this one would have been just up Dean's street. I do know how close you and Dean became. He was a lovely writer and I do miss him. but I do realise you miss him at another level. Indeed, It is time to let go. Such a beautiful four line poem. Poignant words, indeed. Ulla xx

This one was indeed special, I fondly remember Dean Kuch. It was wonderful that you wrote a poem in remembrance of him. I enjoyed the eerie picture and your words captured the sense of him. Very well done, greatly enjoyed.

You are so very welcome, Gypsy and definitely deserving of the six stars. Other than help me, I can't claim the closeness you had. Blessed be, hugs.

Thanks for remembering Dean and heling us to remember, too. I wonder if the headstone-clinging would happen. I just know that some people can't die until their loved ones "let them go." But after they are in the grave, I think they let them go.

Yes, you are right. I'm happy this brought good memories of Dean. Whenever I write spooky poems I think of him. We wrote a couple of horror haiku books together..it was fun. We also wrote a collaborative renga poems with Hitcher...he likes horror too.
Thank you very much for your review and kind words.

Gypsy Blue
this poem of yours is spooky about the
spirits cling
to frigid headstone
waiting for loved ones
Made me wonder if spirts do wait for their loved one to join them.

There's always depth and beauty in your writings... that's probably why I look forward to your submissions. It's a tale in a poem, with a great mood and dark feel. I Love it.
