How true, Yvonne. This is so well-written.
We do take our blessings for granted. We frown when it rains, don't we? And all God is doing is refreshing the earth, offering drink and cleaning. It's all a miracle, every single day.
I was watching a couple of deer today in Carvell's Field. They haven't had a bad winter so far. But lately, we've had snow that seems to be staying for a change. And it's cold. Not much for the deer to eat right now. If winter was any longer, I'm afraid we'd be finding many dead animals in the spring.
In these past two weeks, we've had 3 blizzards, and I have to wonder how the birds endure such windy storms. But they do, somehow. In fact, We seem to get more chickadees and finches come to our feeders during a storm. They really can handle the cold. And they know where to find food.
We need to be thankful. I think that's what you're saying. We need to know that we're blessed.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Absolutely! I love rainy days. Last year, I watched a hummingbird brave enough to come to the feeder in a very rough thunderstorm. It was amazing. Somehow, they survive the elements.

What a wonderful way to spend time by just letting the mind wonder.
I enjoyed taking this little trip of discovery through your eyes and words.
You have shown there is so much to see and ponder in our natural world
Left to its own devices the mind is amazing and captures much around us as readily as any camera.
I firmly agree there is definitely a higher power at work all around us and we should be truly grateful.
Blessings
Shirley

He the birds and you are a tool He uses. I love feeding them and wonder why they do some of the things they do. I also feed the deer. Love your poem. Very real.

Thank you. I miss the deer, but I love feeding the birds. Even here in town, I have raccoons and possums come to eat.

All of the beautiful and amazing 'things' you mentioned, Yvonne were great. I enjoyed reading your club response. Your words are ell chosen and create great imagery. I love the lines about the birds and their nests. Everything about nature is a blessing, because we wonder how/why it's there and how/why it survives. The answer ~God.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

This is a beautiful read Yvonne and I love your take on it. I too often watch the outside world and wonder at how it all works so well in nature. Our beloved birds, they are so clever. The turtles that return across the world to lay their eggs on the each they themselves left, it is all so amazing.
Great read,
cheers,
valda

I agree 100% with this club entry. Whether you believe in God or not, something or someone had to put everything in motion. I happen to believe God was that someone. He still controls it all. Thank you for sharing.

I do, too. I can't imagine not knowing that He's in charge of all this.

The magic of it all we can contribute to a loving God. We are supposed to be keepers of all these wonders, but we are not doing our jobs. One day he will tire of the thoughtlessness and greed and put an end to it all. Well done Yvonne. Nancy:)

I'm going to keep a six back for you on Sunday, dear sister. This is really deserving of one and I feel bad not having one for it. Your thoughts about nature have me wondering now, how do they know? Yet they always get it right, why don't we? I think when we were a young species we probably did, or how did we survive? We started off in caves, no clothes, no shops to buy food, yet we soon found what we needed, just like all creatures do. Now I'm going to start wondering about stuff I'd never given a thought to! This was really good, and I enjoyed reading it. It certainly made me think!! Lots of love and hugs!! :)) Sandra xxxx

I'm humbled. I'm glad I made you wonder. I'm constantly wondering. I have a fascination with cave people. How did they learn what they needed? Can you imagine when they first saw fire? All those things.
reply by Sandra Stoner-Mitchell on 12-Jan-2022
I honestly believe aliens came and taught them that, and other things. How else could they learn? There was no one else around that could teach them. That's what I think, anyway!! Lol. xxx

You may be right. I imagine a lot of it was by trial and error: "Don't eat that. Ole Krog took a bite, and now he's dead!"

All these creatures learn too navigate the earth with instinct and experience and I expect there are some accidents that we have not witnessed just as there are accidents with humans. I agree with you that nature is miraculous and I am in awe of those birds who build nests and trees that know when to shed their leaves. A fine write, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

This is beautiful. You mention many different kinds of miracles. As you write, all the little creatures know how to take care of themselves and their family. The sun rises and sets, the rains come in a miraculous manner. I like your reference to the Hand that controls all these miracles. A great entry for your club. judi
