Argentina would have been interesting considering all the Nazis that chose that country as their escape. I'm afraid the sentiment is correct, they needed a land where they are the majority.

Hi, Brett. As I've said before you've done your homework well. I enjoy following this as I know much of it myself. It has always fascinated me how determined and resilient the Jews can be. But it still took the tragedy of the Holocaust to finally grand them their Country they so deserved. Ulla:)))

Jewish settlement of Argentina became the project of Moritz von Hirsch, a German Jewish financier who created charitable foundations to promote Jewish education. (Thank you for the education. I did not know this.)
Their reason wass because they felt Yiddish was developed in the context of European persecution. (WAS??????)

I'm enjoying every chapter of Sea of Galilee and learning as I go. I thought I knew quite a lot when I started reading, but soon realized my collection of knowledge was simply crumbs. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

You have researched this well and I'm learning a lot of facts I wasn't aware of. I assumed the Zionist wouldn't have considered any place to relocate the Jews other than in the land supposedly given them by God. I thought that was the only reason they have for reclaiming territory there. I also didn't realized that there were only a minority of Jews remaining there after the destruction of the second temple. I find this very interesting.
