Your story is written well and describes all to well a picture of want is happening everywhere in America today and largely ignored because most have no idea how to respond- not from lack of compassion but from ignorance. We need more stories like yours. Good job!

Oh, Mike, I wish I had a six left for this story. It had my heart thumping with anger at the truck driver who poured cold water on him. People like that don't realise that it could easily be them one day. These day with the covid, many people are losing their jobs, homes and everything. The images you drew with your words were really graphic. I felt his cold, and his pain. We must all be a Cindy, we must all have compassion for these people who are there through no fault of their own. Well done, my friend, this was a brilliant story, that is true for too many people. You're absolutely correct Mike. I think I was homeless when a young man, for about three days, but I had a car and a job, and was warm, but there are so many that aren't, and I was doing some minor things, like entertaining them in a give away food place. This is brilliantly written Mike. The homeless are a discarded people, I don't think God is happy with that. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

This is a very powerful story. The imagery is so good, I could almost feel the cold with him. Homelessness in this country is an outrage especially while the government gives so much to illegal immigrants. We should be taking care of our own first. I enjoyed this very much, and look forward to more of your stories.

Thank you for the timely post, dear Papa. Unfortunately the leadership in the country is making this worse and ride on the backs of human misery. The children suffer the most, but all suffer. My dad lived on the streets of Atlanta for years. I don't know how he survived. His alcoholism ultimately killed him. Winters are brutal as you depicted here. I had a man tell me recently he thought he would cross over to Mexico and come back over as an illegal immigrant. That way, he would be taken care of.
The churches do a lot where I live and the food banks/ charities stay busy. Praying for us all.
