I love this simple free verse and the amazingly beautiful picture. The Chinese character means "Good Luck". Frogs are lucky and enjoys simple and happy life.

Well done.

Gypsy Blue your Free Verse
Simple Life Pleasures

Yes I recall watching frogs sitting on the lily pads, enjoying the pleasure of eating bugs and hoping from lily pat to another pat.
I want to say I found a pleasure of reading how frogs find the simple things in their lives

I like this poem. Free verse is interesting , kind of like Modern Haiku giving a great deal of space to express in English- good time to be a frog.. good job

Thank you very much for your review and kind words. It's too wordy to be a modern haiku. It's free verse but haiku and free verse are imagistic poems.

I really enjoyed the pictures. Your words were perfect for the frog because all he needed was food, shelter and clean water. I was not aware the a great deal of Japanese poetry is considered as free verse. Nor was I aware of the number of frogs cruelly killed. I was aware of the biology, the other animals are rabbits and small piglets.

What struck me most about this poem, other than the cute frog at the end, is the phrase "now and then." There's something freeing about not having a schedule and being content with getting a fly when they happen by.

Ah indeed, it may be for the frog, but it doesn't know besides the pleasures of consuming insects, it doesn't know the dangers it faces, sitting on its Lillypad, beautifully written Gypsy, excellent post. Blessings Roy

Thank you very much, Roy. It's always good to hear from you. I hope you are having a wonderful day. I know, every year 3 million frogs are killed used and discarded in biology classes.

Another fine poem, Gypsy----and right to the point entertainment to boot. I like the way tou made a murding frog-bastard sound almost like a lazt dude who wouldn't harm a fly!
