Such a beautiful tribute to your beautiful wife! She's been through so much with you but she held on to faith in the God Who "digs wells in the desert" and to the love of her life, you!
Congratulations on the win!!

Divinity is this...the sacred bond between two who would rise above the raging storms of life...
You deliver unto us the sweet salvation...the miracle of miracles that binds you to your beloved, and she to you...
How easily vows are spoken in our youth! How wise the heart that sees when the ravages of life would blind us!
Congratulations, my friend-- for surely this is worthy!
You are beginning to be recognized for the talented writer you are!
I never had a doubt!

The poem communicated in vivid and creative terms the trials you have been through and the gift of a beautiful wife you so much ardour. The rhythmic flow of your works is quite superb. Well done, dear Theo as I wish you answered prayers.

Great entry for the emotion contest and a lovely tribute to your wife. I really like the words: "to rest content in a God she knows
didn't lead her into the wilderness
to die of thirst. He digs wells
for her in the desert."
When the Lord starts a work in our lives, He will always finish it.

"Chiseled Beautiful by God" moves from an intention to locate where the narrator's wife is, at that moment, into a flood of life recollections that rush through his mind until his focus returns to his wife where he has discovered her sitting. She has shared his life and been his reliable support through the glories and misfortunes of his life, and she remains so. The poem concludes amid a swelling of love and comfort present for the narrator in this relationship. I thought that perhaps the poet should have knitted the wife's presence into the early part of the poem more strongly than he did; however, the poem is a very admirable tribute to the emotions present within this marriage.

What a beautiful free verse poem about the beauty you behold of this woman who captivates your heart so deeply. Your words are explicit and meaningful. You have painted a portrait of her with only words and love. Great job!! Good luck with the contest.

Appreciating the love in your life and the great support you have received is indeed a praiseworthy subject and you did it justice here. It sounds like you have found some peace after suffering horrendous trauma in your life and now you can enjoy and appreciate life and nurse yourself back to health, a melancholy and also uplifting, very personal write, where you have shared your inner most feelings here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Ha, ha, ha nice twist to God's creation where she is not blamed for the falling. Your last stanza says all:"Her body bears the scars of motherhood,
her soul is chiseled beautiful by the Spirit.
I brush her cheek, a soft caress of wonderment
and awe, I'm in love with the workmanship
of our God." Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.
