I remember reading last year about the bushfires in Australia and all the wildlife killed .. such a heart breaking tragedy
It's upsetting to know it's happening again.
I read the Nina is causing lots of rain and cyclone conditions but I didn't know about the heat issue.
You chose an eye catching pic and your words describe well their plight.
My prayers go to you and your country.

You did a great job with y our contest entry, Mystery Author. I like the color scheme and the way you used bold capital letters on the first word of each line. Your rhymes work well, and your poem tells of a devastating event(s). It hurts me so much to know the critters are running for their lives and many don't make it out alive.

The acrostic aspect seems effortless, and the poem reads really smoothly - I'm sure getting it so was far from effortless. Good rhymes too and wonderful descriptions.

Well written and very vivid acrostic poem. Bushfires cause a lot big damage to our lands and the creatures that live in them. Each line connects and provke a thought. Well done, good luck in the contest.
