I was wondering if this is Chapter 67 instead Chapter 68? I feel like Katherine's life is perhaps a little puzzling at times, but probably things will work out in the end for her. God knows, that too many politics can cause an abundance of problems.

Yes, it should be 67 but somehow it got messed up in posting and had to be re-posted and became 68. Thank you for the kind review.

What a wonderfully pleasing outcome to the story so far. Unfortunately, sometimes greedy in-laws get away with the type of larceny Katherine's in-laws attempted. I am so pleased that this time t least, their plans did not work. I am well pleased with the direction this story is going in and I look forward to following its every step.

Thank you for the kind review. It was probably a good idea to have this meeting before they had the trial.

Absolutely. Once the in-laws learned that they could be liable for a lot of money in charges, I do believe their minds will be changed, even if only for a little while.

They certainly seem to have blown the case out of the water. The meeting also works well, reminding readers of previous events in the novel and tying them together. You're keeping the tension running high with the prospect of breast cancer hanging over the relationship.

This was a superb chapter. I can understand why you didn't break it up into smaller portions. It needed reading in full.

and five hundred thousand dollars to Mr. Hudson for deformation of character." [Oops! That's DEFAMATION of character. An easy slip. And it does have a kind of deforming effect, LOL. By the way, I checked the latest copy of your chapter and see you've corrected it to defamation. I'm leaving it only to show I was on duty.]

Thanks for your quality post. BTW, how's your hand?

LOL Yes, I did change it. My wrist, well, not as good as I would like it, but I go back to the doctor tomorrow. I am hope he declares it healed. I can use it for many things, just not everything I'm used to doing with it. Thank you for asking and for the kind review.

Oh poor Katerine she seems to be followed by misfortune. I hope the biopsy will clear her of cancer and finally leave her life. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

An excellent post again, Barbara. These characters are very real, and I am glad things went so well for them at the meeting - and commend your ensuring that they always acted with integrity, so that they cannot be falsely accused. But things will not end smoothly with this biopsy probably going to bring bad news for all. Looking forward to the next!

Thank you for the kind review. I hate asking but did you mean to give me four stars. You're review doesn't indicate it should be.

Oh Barbara, so sorry! No, I definitely did not mean to give four stars - it was an excellent chapter. Sorry to be so clumsy. Will fix it immediately. Wendy

SSSSSStupendous. Brilliant rendering of courtroom scene--I found the exchanges entirely credible--as was the prompt decision of the judge and his interim declarations as to the case being untenable--I commend you for refraining from superfluous dramatization for the purpose of keeping us in suspense as to the outcome--which would have been off-putting given that any degree of hesitation on the part of the judge would have not been believable. Touching and intense interaction between Gabriel and Katherine and masterful segue to subplot as to biopsy. SSSSSSuperb. Cheerssssss. LIZ

The cancer issue could relate to as I also have cancer.

Enjoy cliffhangers. Add much more to the plot.

Court scene also interesting.

A story to follow.

I know I haven't been reviewing this for a while but OH, MAN. I missed a lot, didn't I? Katherine getting checked for cancer; her family was trying to be sued?????!?!?!??!?!? Man, you really got it going in this chapter, Barbara. I really hope this story has a fairytale ending and Katherine doesn't have cancer. (I'll be praying for her lol) I can't wait to see what happens. I didn't see any mistakes. Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hope you're wrist is doing better now... ;)

Barbara, there are some long posts that seem to take forever to get through, but I think that's because they are filled with unnecessary words. When reading yours, I'm so involved in it I hold my breath at times to see how it will turn out, and what the next cliff hanger will be. This chapter is an especially good example. Wonderful writing.
