I just read this in the rhyming contest and I thought it was fun and truly enchanting to meet Rusty.
Well-written in rhyme and light-hearted.
Good luck in the contest.
PS. You have my vote.
Best wishes,
Happy New Year to you, Lorie and of course, Rusty.

This is a fun contest entry, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading it. Your image plus words pair nicely. Your rhymes work well, and the story has great imagery. I could see everything you mentioned.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

Congratulations to a well written rhyming poem that reminisces the recurring breakfast treat of Rusty at eight.
The work highlights the consistency of Rusty in making it to the kitchen door of the protagonist to have its breakfast at eight; and how Lorie, the wife of the protagonist felt obligated to honour its beseeching breakfast claim.
The work earns its texture through its effective use of imagery.
Excellent work. Bravo.
