This thirty-word story, Last Good Morning, has the proper word count and isolates the moment when the parting of a couple between life and death becomes real. Poignant.

I doubt anyone can prepare themselves for that final goodbye regardless of their age. You've written a story in the allotted words, but one I wouldn't want anyone to live. I sat at my mother's bedside and my husband's as they took their last breath. It wasn't easy.

Good luck in the contest.

A great response to the 30 word fiction prompt. The story is minimalistic and stark with a lot of implied emotional undertones. Very well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There isn't much I can add to what you already wrote here. This is a very powerful piece of writing in just 30 words, and will get attention in this contest. I only have a small formatting suggestion: under the advanced options (not the advanced editor) change the image size from the default so that your text does not start wrapping to the right of the picture. It is a little distracting at the beginning of the piece. I would also consider cropping the bottom of your rose picture a bit, to even out the dimensions.

Thanks for your review and the six stars. Just wondering how do I crop the picture? I have changed it a little, please have a look and let me know any suggestions.

You can do it right on your phone (if you have an iPhone) or use Microsoft Paint or pixlr.com. Any basic image editing app should allow you to crop.

Hello Mystery Writer,
In thirty words, you have managed to tell an entire story.
The final goodbye of a loved one.
Oh... incredibly real and poignant.

Thank you for sharing!
