Twenty Tomatoes
by Tina Crute

Good entry for the 20 Syllable Poem contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines. I like the presentation. The meaning of the poem is a simple math problem.

I love your poem but I have to disagree....there are never plenty of tomatoes. You can never have to many of these delicious morsels. This is a great contest entry, thanks for sharing and best of luck to you. :)

You, too, Tina! We had about 2 inches of snow and the weather is cold!

That's a cute poem and you stretched your twenty syllables into one tomato vine! I'm glad you like tomatoes now. It will give me some hope for my one grandchild who doesn't like them now. Lol. Best wishes in the contest!

When I was young, like you, I didn't like tomatoes. Now I can't imagine eating some dishes without them--especially hamburgers. I really like the style of this descriptive, enthusiastic tribute to tomatoes!

So you truly get not liking something and then deciding it's not so bad after all :-) thank you for this review and personal story!

A nice play on numbers that made this into a great poem. The format was also an excellent idea, with the impression of a long vertical line resembling the vine.

It sounds like my dislike of Brussels sprouts, my mother made me eat them until I started to gag, but some years later, I actually enjoyed eating them with our family roasts. Beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

You have a point! I think my mom's nagging me to eat them made me dislike them! Thank you for the review! By the way, I can't stand brussel sprouts!

You did a great job, Tina, with your contest entry. I enjoyed reading it. I like the way you formatted the lines. Your syllable count is correct, too. The picture does look like juicy tomatoes.
Best wishes in the contest.

I like this and the way it is presented is good, too. I like the way you've used the twenty syllables. The only think I would change is to put a full stop after twenty, so that there is a natural pause before the plenty! I think it would make the plenty stand out a bit more as a final word.

You know.. I just might try that. It adds a little drama doesn't it? Thank you so much for the tip and for taking the time to point out a possible improvement!

What a luscious photo! I enjoyed how you arranged your verse vertically to mimic the vine, and your use of alliteration and rhyme added to its appeal.
I am wondering what was the key to your recent conversion to the pleasure of eating tomatoes?

I started liking them when I was too shy to refuse them on salads my husband's parents made whenever they had us over. I decided they weren't bad!
Thank you for reviewing my work today!
