Powers so dark

A very well-written and thoughtful and thought-provoking words. Rather than show our anger at the individual, we must look deeper and work towards working against the darkness. When we are not offended by a senseless act or word, we should look into our hearts and wonder why. If we are not offended by a senseless act or word then we should look to changing or speaking out against an unfeeling society.
Well done as usual.
Take care and blessings,
Mary

Great post my dear friend! I hope you and your family had a blessed New Year. I took off work Monday and relaxed. I see I missed a few of your posts. I need to play catchup.
I learned a new word (snark) from you today. I believe we all need to guard ourselves when it comes to rash comments. I have to bite my tongue at times and keep my comments to myself. Sometimes we get angry and aggravated by others, but it does no good to speak ill to others. I've also learned when someone verbally attacks me on social media to say, "God bless you." That comment ends their awful behavior.
Thanks for sharing.
Always your fan,
Shana :)

Another great poem! This poem makes one stop and think about what is going on in this world and how we can try to figure out what we ourselves can do to help the cause. God bless!

Allow not fury's angry tide
That is the line that stands out for me, Roy, in our world of today. Often on our news screens, there is so much anger involved. To me it is scary wondering where it all comes from. A good life lesson poem, thought-provoking.
cheers,
valda

You just brought us up a sin that is so hard to keep in check. We always tend to hurt people with our comments. "
We fight against the powers of dark,
Speak not against the powers that be,
and let your tongue be malice free.
So guard your mouth; don't be a snark,*
we fight against the powers of dark.
" Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

For a 'dark' poem, this is pretty in presentation. But...sin is pretty, or else it would not tempts us! This poem speaks to me as I have been doing a bit of thinking lately about legacies and what I have to show for this life I was given. Your poem presents a noble request, to value the job of being an envoy for Him, to measure out love to others as God did to us. I am reminded of a verse ...James 3:11, NIV: "Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?" Our mouths should not both praise God then turn around and judge or curse others.
Well done!

Hello! I am back and how great to be able to see a piece of your fabulous work and slap a well-deserved 6 on it. I have been away quite a long time-glad to see some of my favorites still on the site. Your poem, of course, still carries that strong rhythm, but more so, the strong message, which is what really counts! Always understandable. Always beautifully done with great visuals chosen to accompany!

Great quatern with spiritual truth. "For our battle is not against flesh and blood..." as St. Paul warned us in Ephesians 6. That's so important to remember who the real enemy is so that we can keep reaching out in love even to those we disagree with.

Well written and each stanza flows nicely into the next. There is a deep connection and your poem also inspires us to guard our mouth, we fight against the powers of the dark.

I love the presentation and imagery. I like the Quatern poetic form too. Not something I would try but it's a lovely read. Your wise advice reminds me of the four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. Agreement 1: Be Impeccable With Your Word.
Well done!
