Oh my goodness! What a ridiculous and untrue thing to say - and "Brother John" calls himself a Christian?!! He doesn't know the meaning of the word, and shouldn't be representing the church in any way. Jesus Himself was "homeless" - "foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head". That sort of judgemental hypocrisy upsets me greatly. However, well written as always. Just sad on her behalf.

Sad to say, this story is true. I wish Scott had ratted him out to the minister!

Well that, as they say, has nothing to do with compassion, Jesus never asked folk if the were "saved" before He helped them! That is quite disgusting, a team goes out every Saturday night, offering help to all, without condition or payment. You can ask Brother John, is God's love conditional or unconditional, I tell you if that's Christianity, I would relent tomorrow, but it isn't, that would anger God. Blessings and thank you for revealing that Liz, I will pray for the dear lady, and brother John, blessings and HNY. Roy

I really think Scott has a heart of gold. He helps people in need unconditionally . But I think Carol could apply for social security so she could get an apartment. Maybe she has never worked so she can't.
Well done.

They didn't interact nicely!

I didn't mean nicely in a literal sense my friend, but they bounced well off each other.
-
I was amused at the witty irony of your phrasing!

Surely not!!!??? What a terribly callous and unnecessarily judgmental comment by Brother John. Your story provides enough detail in the situation to provoke an opinion about that uncharitable 'Christian'
"Holier-than-thou" religious types are conspicuously lacking in compassion.

So much for freakin' Brother John! There can be no crueler people than self-proclaimed Christians who are guided by their own insecurities and fear instead of the teachings of Christianity. I'm liking Scott more and more.
