I can see that in the stillness of winter, one can really enjoy it, without that wind factor it actually feels reasonably warm, and the silence is so restful. Beautifully written Melissa, and excellent post, blessings Roy

Snow definitely makes a sound when it's falling .. it's hard to describe .. an audible shhhh sound ( ?)
But once it stops silence reign in my garden .. it's a peace silence that allows you to hear your thoughts , even your heart beating because it's hard not to be overwhelmed by such beauty .. everything is immaculate.
PS. I love walking in the woods but I don't go in winter ..the track is mostly up or down and it's easy to slip.
