Gabriel seems to be fitting nicely into Katherine's life--helping her with cooking, housework and directing her boys. I hope wedding bells are soon to come. Nice chapter, Barbara.

This post started slowly and I have to wonder if the opening scene could be cut out. It doesn't seem to have alot of relevence to the relationship between Katherine and Gabriel. But when you dove into that conversation between them about Katherine's prior marriage, you dug up lots of themes and asked questions about the nature of marriage, and relationships between men and women. Gabriel seems to struggling to fit into Katherine's mold here a bit. And Katherine seems willing to cut him some slack to get into that mold. estory

I looked at the opening scene. I understand what you're saying and I think you may be correct. I am wondering if people will wonder how they got back home. That's exactly why and the only reason why it's there. LOL

I'm glad you are giving us longer chapters to read, Barb, my novels were always between 1500 - 1750 words. Jims, (Pantygynt) has long chapters, too. It gives us something to really get stuck into. This was a nice gentle chapter, it seems like the parents are being told that Gabe and Katherine are dating now. It hasn't been taken badly. The children love him already, but I'm glad Gabriel is going to have a chat with Joel, something is on his mind, perhaps he's still suffering the stress of what his father was like? I shall have to wait and see. Well done, my friend, and a very happy Christmas and a healthy, great New Year. :)) Sandra xx

Barb,

Nice chapter. I really like these two together. I'm so worried about what your evil mind may have coming. I can just hear you cackling as you stir that pot and toss your ingredients into the witch's brew!!!

Evil woman! hahahaha

Nice job!

QUESTION!!!! A reviewer wonders if the opening scene can't be deleted. I think she has a good point. I was wondering if people would question them getting back from the cross country meet. What do you think? Can it be deleted??

Never ask me a question like that. *smile* I am the one who always, always says CUT, CUT, CUT!!!

A very trying romantic story to read. In every chapter we want some of these issues solved for Katherine, but they seem to keep elevating toward another issue or problem.

Happy Holiday to you and yours.

I liked the way you described the boys .It is clear they are their own persons. Katherine has a very good influence on Gabriel. he is certainly a work in progress.!

Gabriel is getting more comfortable asking personal questions. He probably assumed that she didn't love her husband. Getting married so young was a big mistake for her, but I got married at eighteen and for me it was a good move. He was older and I was immature so I was lucky he was a decent guy and fit well with my personality. I hope Christmas is wonderful for you.

This work has reached the exceptional level

While I have not followed this story from the beginning, I have peeked at it every so often. You are at the top of your game with dialogue painting the environment without over description. It is obvious this story is deep with neglected love beginning to cautiously bloom.

Passion check: The kiss count has gone up considerably from four in chapter 34 35 to nine in chapter 36. (;-o)

The following is exceptionally well written. I hope your male readers take note.
"The morning I told you about when I woke up and didn't recognize myself, well, I also realized I used women. I didn't like what I saw and vowed from that day I'd treat women with respect."

Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas in the joy of the Lord. Yard

'...Gabriel asked, "Joel, is he always so quiet?"

"He's the quiet one in the family. I'm a little worried. I think he gets lost in the shuffle. Jordan's the oldest and a born leader, but in a quiet way. Joshua, he's outspoken and has no filters." Katherine laughed, "Jeremy's still finding his voice, but definitely has one. I've tried to reach out to Joel, but so far no luck. ...'

It is so nice that the boys are not in each others' shadows. Each is seen as a unique person. That is very unusual in a family.

My husband and I raised four boys. Each on is their own self. That's why I wrote it this way. Thank you for the kind review.

I have jumped right slap dab in the middle here, but I'm like what I read. I will follow this now to see what happens next. I like Gabriel already, and it seems like Katherine has found the one she needed in her life.
