Alas, not only the expense if the flowers but possibly a plumbing bill, because trying to flush them isn't a good idea. Maybe if a guy shells out for expensive roses, he should have in mind another gal who'd love to have them. It was a nice try, but next time try chocolates. judi

Oh, yeah. I can see that. Though I wouldn't ACTUALLY recommend flushing those flowers, I get the sentiment. The image actually matches the poem wonderfully but is quite beautiful.
Nice job.
On the other hand - it does take more than flowers...

Before you spend a fortune on flowers, you should spend a few hours discovering whether she is worth a live rose or one of the plastic variety, because everybody knows, some gals or just not worth it.

Darn. Those poor flowers have gone to waste. Flushing doesn't sound as good a plan as maybe composting. I think maybe the narrator needs to find out what she really liked. Some women don't like flowers as much...
