What an excellent finale! And that's the end of Tony Alfanzi. Sadly, he won't be missed by anyone. It's good that Izard had the decency to leave something for his daughter -- though violently conceived, she was well loved by her parents, Olivia and Lyle. And Detective Sally Law's cold case has been well solved.

Suggested revisions:

A couple of bad guys, watching from a distance, make loose ends. I am wondering, will they be tied up in the Epilogue, or provide material for your next story?

Aw, what a delight to see you, dear. Thank you so much for the lovely stars and insightful comments. The improvements are always appreciated and have been repaired. Your vision is outstanding. I miss those quote marks although I scan for them over and over. Sigh....
Yes, this end is a diving board into my next book. The Epilogue will start my new year as I'm having a stretched out holiday this hear. My globe trotting family--what can I say?

My youngest, Robert, works for a vaccine company, so he is always the late arrival, loaded up with gifts in his Titan truck. You should see my driveway at Christmas! Heavens!

Sending you my best today as always, and abundant Christmas blessings, warmth and good cheer, joy and peace, now and always,

You are doing a beautiful job of ending this exciting book. I have enjoyed all of it. You are a skilled writer. You created so many exciting characters with Sally, Jackson and King in starring roles as usual. It sounds like Stuart Whitehead; and his sinister partner, Dr. Edmund Ziegler are still something to be concerned about. Will the epilogue deal with them?

Well done, Sally! You tied everything up in a nice package. Did I catch a hint of a follow-up story as well? Whitehead and Ziegler teaming up against the blind detective? Perhaps the epilogue will tell us more.
Analiese came close to joining Tony in being blown to bits. If she had stepped on board for that drink of champagne, Ken Washburn would have lost his future bride. People who step on board a ship better know how to swim. And they have to have trust in the owner as well. I was reading a bit about Natalie Wood's drowning death this past week. It interested me because I watched "Miracle on 34th Street" a few nights ago. She was such a beautiful woman, and her death still remains a mystery. Was there foul play? So many years have passed.
It was nice to see that Olivia Henry received a cash surprise. I'd still like to see a family celebration there, of some description ... Olivia and her brother, Miles.
I wonder how Ziegler managed to place a bomb on Tony's boat? Did he use scuba gear, and swim for it?
And now we find out that Sally is a multi-millionaire... paintings and diamonds! How did Stuart Whitehead find out about that? Lots of ammunition for a future spin-off, eh?
Nicely penned! Congratulations!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Sally,

Oh, wow. I was NOT expecting that. *smile* Really? A BOMB??!!! Zowie!

You don't play, do you? You just reminded me of the poem I posted today - about the fun of being the writer. Being able to decide who lives and dies. Being in charge! Heaven knows we don't get that ability here on Earth. hahahahaha

Just a single note:
--> Tony left, and as soon as his head disappeared from eye view,
--> 'eye' probably isn't needed

Thanks!

I'm a real sucker for happy endings or a story that ends with a miracle. So, you've drawn me in like a fish on a line . . . and I even enjoyed all the bait leading up to the ending. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

The story will end with a happy start for some of the characters in your super story. I would love to see a painting of the famous Calla Lily painting. I love calla lilies. They don't last long, but in a painting they last forever.

Calla Lillies is shown in Chapter Two. I thought this was the most beautiful chapter art in my book. Thank you so much for the lovely review and comments. Blessings,

Explosive ending in art Sally...then the release. What more could one ask for of an ending.

This has been a controlled and balanced, on the verge of clinical, writing as a whole. You did your homework, you made it credible, and all the more, realistic piece of fiction, and I wish you luck with the book...it deserves. Incredible detail.

Just one little thing that threw me..niggly:

''A waning crescent moon reflected off of the gulf shore, casting the pier in a blue fluorescence. ''

Yes...OK! It works, but, for me, just a tad too poetic for this event. It is the first part for me Sal, what do you think?

''A waning crescent moon''

Like sweets on top of sweets. Too rich. I thought to remove one f the adjectives then perhaps add the notion somewhere else....ffor example Sal.

A waning moon...
A crescent moon...

Example;
''A crescent moon reflected off of the gulf shore, waning, the pier is cast in a blue fluorescence. ''

Do you see what I mean Sally? The two points are in but not together.

It just threw me.

This is book is so well written, I don't want to be thrown at the last hour.

Bravo.

Have a splendid week.

Thank you for the superb review and helpful critique, RG! I appreciate your kind input, and I have repaired the sentence. Typically, I write my books and short stories in past tense, and have tweaked it a bit.

It's situations like this that the reader is hooked in and asks" but is he really gone?" But it looks like his legacy lives on. As they as about tv series, will there be a season 4?

That was a brilliant ending, Sal, all the ends tied up nicely, and with a small hint about the next book. I was glad Tony was the only death after that bonb exploded, and wasn't it good that Ana actually heard it before it went off? Then we see Olivia has a parcel containing loads money, what a happy ending for her, and she is at last able to forgive Eugene. Now on to the epilogue, are you posting on Christmas day? I hope not, I hope you will be enjoying yourself. Well done, my friend, this was an amazing story and I can't wait to see the team again. Have a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous New Year. Love and hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

A fitting close, and hopefully all is well ... but there are some suspicious characters who are still after all the paintings. Olivia seems to have come full circle, and all is well. Your novel reads well with a very satisfactory close ... but there may be a sequel perhaps? Congratulations o your accomplishment.
Wendy
