Firstly, I am sorry for your loss of your husband. I hope you are getting help through the grieving process. This is a good entry in the 5-7-5 poetry contest. The text is a great size. The message is clearly stated and easily understood.
The visual fits well. If the contest is not over, good luck in it.

I'm so sorry Jan, that would have not been very easy. It doesn't seem fair somehow, I can but sympathise, and I feel that's inadequate to lose your best friend, bless you my friend, blessings Roy

What a beautifully expressed sorrow in a poem. Your picture is perfect, as you look to heaven for peace from our glorious Father. I'm sorry for your loss and I am glad you can express your emotions to us and know we care.

Beautiful 5/7/5 entry for the contest. It's heartfelt. Good syllables count and connection between lines. Nice presentation and imagery.

Losing someone close to you because of a death is hard. Along with the initial shock, it's a challenge when you have to go on and learn how to navigate the future without him by your side. A very touching poem that tells so much about grief. Good luck in the contest!

I am so so sorry, dearest Jan. I'm stunned! Please accept my condolences. My brother-in-law just died around the same time. My husband and I were able to travel and say goodbye and comfort my sister. He passed as soon as we arrived back home. Sending you my best today, and extra hugs and prayers,
Sal XOs...

Thanks so much, Sal. I am sorry to hear about your brother-in-law, also. I was fortunate enough to be with my husband when he died. The military service is in the morning at 10 a.m. There is a haiku about that, also, and is heavily promoted. Jan

I really like the first line of this excellent little 5-7-5 poem. How very powerfully this is expressed because we often are so unprepared for death of a loved one. The last line is a nice conclusion. I'm so sorry for your loss. Altogether, very well done. Cowboy
