Max is Sheriff Welcher's brother. He too was childhood friends with Marian and Sam. Can't tell you more because I don't recall which chapter you learn the rest. LOL

I have enjoyed the spontaneity of 'planning' that seems to be the order of the day for escaping. Often thinking-by-the-seat-of-your-pants is the best their is to do.

Thank you so much. Forgive the cut and paste but I am so far behind with showing my appreciation to everyone. Please know it is sincere. This story went in a darker direction than I originally planned (maybe my life got caught up in it) but as we draw closer to the end, I am thrilled that you have continued to follow and enjoy it.

This is a very interesting and active chapter in your book. Marian was wise to change out her pills. I can't remember Max. I hope he's a good guy as his brother obviously isn't. You are doing a very good job of keeping up the tension and interest in your story.

Carol, you are sure full of surprises in this story! I hope Max can be trusted, but since Marian has known him from childhood, maybe he's on her side. Another excellent chapter.

You gave me a fright at first, until I realized that it was Max, and he was on their side. I thought it was going to be all over, for Marian. A great chapter, and the tension still rises as the rescue approaches.
