Good to see something with a difference.
Even better to see you writing again dear author.
Beautiful the colours, and I don't only mean the image, I mean within the psyche, the minds eye. This projects an imagery vibrant as it is bright, and colours embed by themselves.
A lovely thing, from a favorite writer and person.
Keep rising.
My best.

Wow! You did a great job with this. I could see this and hear it in my mind's eye. I love the sound of castanets. When I was a little girl, I saw a movie with Carmen Miranda and she was playing the castanets. I remember I tried to make some from Coke bottle tops. lol.

I enjoyed trying a Spanish form. Thanks!

Hello K.
I know nothing about the style, but the poem reads well, and the description of the Flamenco dance is done well. I don't even do two step anymore so the Flamenco would be a BIG stretch.

Hey Z! I'm with you. Can't dance. Love the voice branch and raw passion of the Flamenco dancers though! Thought a Spanish theme for a Spanish form would work well.
Thanks! K
-
You're welcome K. I used to dance but I stopped at my niece's wedding in 2018. I was asked to stop... by her. HAHAHA

Do you reme!her the character "Elaine" on Seinfeld? Lol. I dance like her...
Kind of a Seizure/stumble step!
K
-
Oh yeah, I remember Elaine. Nobody dances like that, do you??? I am a good dancer, but I gave it up in 2018.
-
I did! If you can call that dancing! Then I saw a video of myself. I sit them all out now...

.Wish I knew how to read
La Alegria de la Danza
karenina your poem Carlos' Girl..
was fun to read,
I could picture in my mind and hear
castanets click-clicked in time...
as
she stomped each note into the ground.
One thing karenina,
You image of the dancing girl can be changed to a different size so it won't look blurred. ( try Medium )
Gert
so blurred

karenina,
I hope that you were able to change the size of your font.

Yikes! My FONT? I've been trying to diminish the size of the (kind of blurry) photo. Does the font need changing as well? It looks fine on my laptop. Sigh...

Katerina! I'm so happy to hear from you. You know what? I'm from Spain so I'm delighted with your poem choice. Beautiful presentation, darling. I would try this form but I don't do rhyme.
Well done!

Lovely. Perfect rhythm that simulates the sound of the Spanish dancer. I could just see her in my mind's eye! Great visual image of the little children mimicking the dancer, too. So much enjoyed! You took me back to Spain again. My wife lived there for a while - actually just my girlfriend in those far-off, halcyon days!

Thank you! Always nice to try something new! The picture is oversized, sadly have tried several times to shrink it. I will try with fresh eyes tomorrow.

Love the way you described the mesmerizing dance with the sound of castanets and stomping "notes into the ground." How great that children are drawn into the dance!!

Well done fitting the content within an interesting form. A very nice image is created and I liked the red lines. Question: what is the core meaning within the poem that triggered you to write about the Spanish dancer?

If you have to ask (and you do) I failed. Really, since it was a Spanish poem/format and I love the passion of Spanish dancing the theme just came together for me. Good point though. It's more an exercise of form than of deep introspection. Sometimes I just like to play on my mood swings! (grin)-- Thanks for your comments Tim.

lol. Nothing wrong with earning your chops in terms of poetic forms and structures. Sometimes I think I may be too intense and expect a deep dive from a poem. But this one is delightful in its image of festive dance, the joy of life, the reverie of Going with God. That is the "meaning" for me in the fine poem.
-
I get it. I do! I love the depth and profound nature of your work. I try to emulate it, albeit in poetic form...though I strayed perilously close to free verse, in my post previous to this one! Still--it's poetry "lite" I suppose. Sometimes I want red meat...sometimes I want a fluffy dessert!-- Glad you culled a meaning out of it that worked for you. In the end that's what really matters.

I have so much more I want to ask you, my kindred spirit about your thoughts on poetry, but I can tell that I'm pushing too hard. Some things are lost in translation in emails. By no means do you do anything "lite."
-
I would welcome...and pray we stay in touch via email.
Please?
You never push...
