This story, The Exchange, was a great read on a tough subject. The message of hope and salvation comes through loudly as Maria's prayers are answered and a soul is redirected to God's kingdom. Nice.

Thank you very much Bill. Much was fact, but some fiction mixed in.
I am glad you enjoyed it, and appreciated the message as well. Wendy

This is a beautiful story demonstrating the love of family and faith in God. You delivered the powerful message of eternal life through the prayer Maria prayed for her father. Your story also included the true meaning of Christmas which - "the Savior of the world is being celebrated." Congratulations on winning the contest.

A touching poem at this special time of year. Many a patient has been scared of death, but we know that Jesus will take us home. He told us, "In my Father's house are many mansions, I go to take you there." Thanks for sharing and congratulations on winning poem of the month (you will) K xx

I read your tearful story. The way you wrote this story, you made it sound that it actually happen. Their were many parts of your story that made me tearful. Your last two paragraphs are beautiful

Thank you Gert. A beautiful and thoughtful review. Parts of it are fiction, but some is fact. (I did lose my father on Christmas Eve, and I did pray a similar prayer with him before he died.)

This was truly a Christmas story that held blessings. Sadly the father passed away, but he did so after accepting the Lord. It would be a beautiful exchange, their dad celebrating in heaven, and on earth, we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Good luck with the contest!

Wendy,
This deserves a six, but I am out. What a wonderful principle you wove into a story that could have been filled with sorrow and handwringing. Indeed, an exchange made through grace.

A very touching story about the loss of a father who entered the eternal gates. Prayers were answered for three of the daughter's prayers; when she arrived home, she felt content.

This is a beautiful and heart-wrenching story, Wendy. You've done an excellent job of conveying all the emotions, the love and compassion of his family and his care givers. It's wonderful that his daughter could still find joy in the Christmas celebrations. Good luck in the contest.
