Although this was a very important message about gun violence...I thought it could have been a lot more creative. Nevertheless, It was definitely on point. And I like that. But poetry is poetry. Something that has more meaning, whenever it touches the soul. Keep Writing.

Thank you. While I am not trying to justify my poem's brevity, I will say in my defense, I did not want to come off as preachy, as those with the right mindset, probably already know. Those opposed, will probably not be convinced by mere words.

Sadly you are so right. We live in a copycat world. Whatever headline news event that happens, good or bad, will soon be repeated by someone who feels emboldened by the last person who did it. "I want to do it too."

Another horrific tragedy. I see the parents, too, have been arrested and charged. So many warning signs and still he was allowed to remain in school! Four more children dead... This must stop!

As long as the NRA has money to spend on spineless politicians it will not happen, change will not come.

It's always "thoughts and prayers" for the victims and their families. How about some better regulations? I'm all in on being able to own guns...but what about keeping them out of the hands of children and the very disturbed?

You are so right. I woke up this morning to hear on the 6 am news that another senseless shooting had claimed some more victims, one was a six year old girl.

We need better gun control. Unfortunately there are too many shootings everyday.
Our country is becoming less safe and less safe daily. What a shame... As a senior I am afraid to go out. I used to go to watch evening movies and walked home. Now, no way. What has happened to America?

I believe that the bad has only gotten worse. We are rushing headlong into the days the bible has already described as the end times. I very much fear that they are not only here, I believe they are nearing the apex. Be afraid, be very much afraid.

"No mommy's not mad. You need to learn how not to get caught." Or something to that effect. But I know my paraphrasing is close.

Yes I was aware of the email. I tried to touch on it by saying that the parents did not try to teach him to show love for anyone. Thank you for your fine comments.

Chilling. America would mobilize its might to protect it from outer forces, diseases and keep its citizens safe. But not the gun violence which has spread to the school. Very sad. A very telling poem indeed!.
