It seems no one remains to take care of his legacy, and after he died alone, the lights continued to give pleasure in the neighborhood. Perhaps it would have been better to care for him during his lifetime.

How can that be? How distressing for his family left behind. Are the lights programmed on a yearly basis? Is that possible? This will leave me wondering all day.

Part of haiku magic is that it can mean different things to different people. I was thinking how people in America put up Christmas lights and leave them in place until next year because it's hard to put them on so the man died but his lights were still on. I think you have to be an American to make more sense. But it could be a man who just put on the Christmas lights, died, and the lights are still on.

Thank you very much for your review and feedback.

Good Poem, type and style being the bottle, the message is what comes from the poet and the way it received, understood and remembered makes the poem.
And so with the person, the Ark, even after passing can shine bright in our memories like the lights on the house. At least my take away. Thanks for reminding me. Good job Gypsy.

Excellent haiku with vivid imagery. Before I read to the end of the poem, I was already thinking in my head that the bright blue looked like Christmas lights :-)
Well done!!
Tina

A definite virtual six. A stunning and haunting poem. Time moves forward despite the death with Christmas lights still blaring as if death had not visited the house.

That sounds so sad Gypsy, I've often wondered when someone dies so suddenly how does one clean up the optimism that someone will live longer than they do. Well done Gypsy, blessings Roy

That is rather sad. But it can be taken several ways. The neighbor is gone and won't be taking the lights down, so the continuity of normal life is broken. On the other hand, the light is still shining and gives home that his light that he briefly shared on earth still keeps shining.
