This 3-5-3, Southbound, has the right set up and witnesses the southern migration of the fair-weather geese as they spearhead a honking flight.

Your poem felt peaceful even though the birds flying is action. It made me contemplate on the wonders of nature. How everything has its own inner clock. Instinctively knowing when the time is right.

Ciao mystery poet,

you now have 7 votes.

First off I love the pic.

Secondly I love autumn which is the period when certain birds ( swallows in my case) head south to milder weather to avoid winter.

I alway feel a bit sorry for those that stay .. I usually offer some bread on my window sill .. just to help them get through the rigid winter.

Hello, Anonymous,

Interesting entry for the Write a 3-5-3 writing prompt contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines. Good luck in the contest!

this poem relates to our kind of weather...the geese are still near as we have no snow to speak of...to keep warm in the water, they must nestle their head under their wings.

This is a cute little poem! I have never thought what the birds might be saying as they fly away, but it makes sense that they would give some kind of departing comment!
Well done!

I always love tracking migratory animals. You captured this well in this format.

My only thoughts are:
- 'South' doesn't need to be capitalized
- Delete the period, since you don't have punctuation anywhere else. Alternately, if you swap it for a comma, lower the case of 'We'll' and end with a period, that would work, too.

If you make these changes, please let me know, and I'll be happy to bump you to a five. Good luck in the contest!

A very nice poem for the prompt. I love watching the birds migrate and knowing that they will return. Migration is a reassuring concept to me. Keep up the great writing.
