I really like this one.

In simple plain language, this episode described an event in another country where racism was once at its peak of anti-civilization. Racism does not just die and disappear, it stays.

Great to read another of your great stories.

It seems there is ignorance and prejudice everywhere but fascism took it to a whole new level. If you like, idiots with a ultra sense of self importance and a deluded believe that they could do no wrong and blame everyone else when it does.
Saying that I think there's a little idiot inside all of us? BOOM!!!!! :)

I was hooked on every word of your story, plus I cheer for those who stand up to bullies. The underdog in this story did stand eight foot tall. I am sure you will do well in the contest:)

This is a well told story and I enjoyed reading it. I say kudos to Rube. My ex is Jewish and he camp up against prejudice idiots a few times in this country. It's a nasty business anyway you look at it.

Rube the quiet one was able to cope, and stand up to them. Good for him. A well written and interesting story - you kept the reader interested till the end. Your own personal reflections add authenticity.

What a great story and you wrote it flawlessly. You know what really bothers me, is that in spite of all Germany did--starting two world wars, I have yet to hear Germans call themselves a racist country because of its 80-year-old past. America helped win those wars, rescued the Jews in WW2, but because of Columbus (over 700 yrs. ago) and 200 years of slavery, Blacks and white Liberals won't let it go. 2021 and they are still reporting to the world that America is a racist nation. smh!
