Way to go Yvonne.
Great job with this Constanza. This is almost an ode to the statuesque tree in the graphic. I had a tree like that when I was a boy. It is still there but I am a long way away.
Really well Done.

Thank you so much, Robert. So sad you moved away from your tree. Maybe there's another you can adopt.

You're welcome

Damommy this is the most amazing way that I've seen a poem written. You have made me want to dig in and learn more about all the ways poetry is written. I can't fathom writing a poem like this, with all of it's intricacies. I am so glad that I came across your poem. It has shed new light and opened up another window of poetry for me to look through. I'm grateful. I can't say it enough...this is just terrific.

Awww, thank you, Nina. I'm speechless over such a wonderful review. If you're new at writing poetry, join us in Potlatch Poetry. We learn new forms every week. Now, excuse me while I enlarge the doorway to get my head through it after such an awesome review. 8-) Yvonne

Lol, Yvonne, that was hysterical. Enlarging your doorway gave both my husband and me a great chuckle. I am pretty new at poetry and I will definitely check out your group. Thanks so much for suggesting it. I look forward to being involved in it.

I'm so glad you'll join us. Don't judge the others by this goof ball. They're all sane people. lol.

Very well done on this different type of poem. The first lines of each of your verses do sound good read as an independent poem. Beautiful picture of the tree, one could find peace and contentment under its branches.

Your first lines do make a lovely poem on there own Yvonne. I wish I had waited to read this after I get my six's back. Lovely sentiments, and beautifully written, Yvonne. Cheers, valda

This is an excellent entry for the Constanza event for your Potlach Poetry Club. Your poem flows and pairs perfectly with the illustration. Nicely done.

A poet, I'm not, but I enjoyed your post. It seemed to work extremely well for this format. The rhyme and meter are going to whisk your readers right through. Well done, well written and beautifully presented. I'm also a tree lover, so there is all that too! Bill

Standing shows respect.
It is an element of survival.
Your metaphorical description of your association with trees, makes me think of my personal universe; where I am always welcome.
It is not an easy path, and many are induced to follow the Wok psycho path, which provides many scapegoats, to blame for all the problems of mankind.
I believe in Nature, and your trees are mentors to bring a conscious mind into an envelope of peace and understanding.
Visit them often. You have found your personal universe.

Hello Yvonne. You have written a superb verse for this poetic form. I am unfamiliar with the Constanza, but your notes helped me grab the basic concept. Very well done!

Damommy, without question this is so deserving of the #1 spotlight. as a poet whose first love is to write of nature's depth of impact working the human soul, I was carried on a wonderfully well written poem into enchantment once again. Thank you for your gift and sharing your talent.

Good Morning, Yvonne!
Smiles all around!
What a lovely and moving presentation that resonates soundly with me. My husband and I live on a bluff, surrounded by hardwoods and pines. Yes, the trees do speak to us, and we gratefully listen.
Thank you for sharing both form and message!

Thank you. I'm glad someone else talks to them. Jim asked me what they said in reply, but I told him it's a secret. I can't tell.

Hah!
I truly believe trees have feelings, Yvonne.
My husband and I were just commenting on Wednesday how terrible a massive pine tree by our daughter's home must "feel" as while it is standing, some idiot pruned it to accommodate telephone wires... So very sad...
-
I hate when people do that, or cut down a lovely tree because it shades the grass. I mean, REALLY!!!!

A new subdivision is being built overlooking Grand Traverse Bay. ALL of the mature hardwoods that once graced the area were destroyed to create views of the bay... Just sickening...
