That sounds amazing, Chuck sounds like he's about as clever as I am. But I've either owned a van or owned a car with a generous rear, like a station wagon until now, heh heh, well done Chuck, blessings Roy

Glad you got a laugh! Luckily, Chuck is thin enough to make it through the window. Check out Monica's Chaddick's and LisaMay's reviews!

That would have been a hilarious sight, Liz. Thanks for sharing this. I had a good laugh. More laughter is needed from all, and this one started my day with one. Your words are descriptive--I could see the entire thing as it unfolded.
Respectfully, Jan

Sometimes, hindsight can make up for lopsided forethought . . . that is, if your butt will fit through the car window when you screw up. It's nice to start the morning off doing the Lizzie shuffle, I mean chuckle. Thanks for sharing.

You never cease to amaze me with the great stories and poems you write and this yet another which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It is so well written that I can picture this father showing off in a way to his children how expertly he had tied on the Christmas tree to the car and then not realizing that now he couldn't get the doors open and had to squeeze the children in through the windows, Loved it great work. Amusing story. Loved it. How did Chuck manage to get in the car?LOL> That must have been a scene from a Chaplin movie! Chuck is innovative and I am sure he must have found a way to crawl in and out of the problem. Thanks for sharing!

Great family Christmas story, and very, very funny! I love it! Expertly told, with a nice little buildup. I am sure it is one of the gems in Chuck's family legacy. It's great to have some genuine Christmas cheer, that doesn't come in a bottle!

Oh my gosh, your well written tale gave me deja vu - my father was a scout leader and he was with a couple of the boys working out how to get an old mattress taken to the dump... he tied it on the car roof just the same as Chuck did and the boys climbed through the window okay but Dad had to turn himself into a pretzel to get into the car.

Poor Chuck. I can just picture the scene. I bet he didn't make the same mistake twice. A fun, humorous post for the Christmas season. Nicely written.

It reminded me of when my daughter's car doors got stuck, and the only way in was through the passenger window. Can't remember the details, I will have to ask her but she at that point had just met a new potential boyfriend who had to push her through the car window and she then had to climb over to the driver's side. Well .... he is now her husband.

Lol ! While I can see how the kids could be small enough to get through the windows, how did Chuck get in? Thanks for the "chuck-les" from his many past stories. Hope he's no longer afraid to visit and that his daughter is staying healthy while visiting in FL.
