Hahaha, it seems the kiddies were smarter than Chuck. But I love the way he didn't let the titters, as you called them, ruffle his feathers and he got the ultimate laugh at the end.

Glad you got a laugh! Luckily, Chuck is thin enough to make it through the window. Check out Monica's Chaddick's and LisaMay's reviews!

Hi Liz,
once again I finish reading in laughter... this time at the expense of Chuck at his solution 'breaking' methods to getting his children in his car... classic! Gotta love a man who thinks on his feet.

Thoroughly enjoyed your little Chucky story... thanks heaps for sharing this story, I needed the laugh, I just cut my thumb trying to slice my sourdough with a bread knife... yeah, how does one do that? Apparently, very easily! Smile(((((((((.

With our thoughts we create...
An open window policy.

Kind regards,
James.

Well that was a fine kettle of fish! These true stories are so endearing...
I feel a little less neglectful having almost forgotten to pick my five year old son up from kindergarten many years ago.

(Hey, it was a half day and I was at the dentist and....)

I was only a few minutes late... In "MOM" time. A CENTURY to hear him tell the story even now! Nice save with the boost through the window... Christmas memories! The best!

Hah! I did... Guess there's a "thing" with folks tying those knots and securing WAY too much in the process! Hysterical!

Poor Chuck... even when he tries to be the father figure and show them how things work... it backfires. But it also becomes a memory they will never forget. Great story!

Hugs, Carol

I love your story. I am sure that this has been told and retold many times, and still amuses the hearers. Guess he taught the children how to tie a secure know that day. Thank you for sharing this.

This is an excellent slice of Chuck's life. It's the sort of idiocy most parents have unthinkingly committed - what foolish fodder we all provide for our children's memories. I am convinced they remain convinced into adulthood that we are unreliable buffoons.

This is a delightful story about getting a tree and making a fool of yourself without even trying. Tying the tree to the car made sense, really. It's
just those doors that are the problem.

Haha I love it. Such a confident father, showing off to his kids but no, he screwed it up. He could probably have undone the knot but that would maybe take the fun out of it. Great story!

Very funny. Maybe you should submit this to Readers Digest for their anecdotes? A smooth transition from the present to the past. I commend Chuck for his reaction to this.

This reminds me of the scene from "A Christmas Story" when the family gets their Christmas tree. On the way home they have a flat tire, and Ralphie tries to "help" change it. It doesn't end well. This is such a funny episode. Of course, Dad likes to show off by demonstrating the hitch knot. So funny that the car doors were knotted shut. judi
