A very touching poem which holds a lot of meaning in a few words. I loved the phrase 'they brighten my today'. I agree whole-heartedly with the sentiment of the poem but it is not always easy to accept that one day you may no longer be around to enjoy these things in life. Best of luck for the contest.

Thank you for the review and for having my back. I will correct. It is a husband or wife depending your gender. I guess it could also mean any significant other.
