It is very well written, capturing how to bribe a girl to gain a Christmas kiss. I admire Petey's strategy. Everybody has their price. Good looking girls are often snooty and play hard to get. ("Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker" - when he's older he'll be buying Peggy's drinks.)

I loved Rockwell and have often used his art to inspire my stories. I am delighted you enjoyed this one, Lisa. One must wonder if the narrator continued to succeed with women as he grew older.

A delightful tale of taking a Norman Rockwell painting and adding a story to his picture. Here the girl will not kiss with the traditional mistletoe, but a chocolate bar now that is something different.
