Well done. Great story with memories of Boone Farm wine. I remember seeing it everywhere (many empty). Discovering one of the girls was a cousin and knowing that they were only 16 would make anyone fishtail out of there.
I enjoyed the read.
Best wishes,
Mary

Sixteen trying to be 26. It's a good thing you were wise to them and made your retreat. One was a cousin? It's hard to keep track of all the relatives.
Excellent details especially considering this is flash fiction. I don't know what Boone's Farm is but am assuming it's liquor, as that made the narrator wary. Well constructed. judi

Thank you, Judi, for the positive review. Boone?s Farm was a cheap wine popular with teens in the seventies.

You're welcome, and I hope you're enjoying a great Thanksgiving Day. judi

This is a different story written in such a few words but completely explains the situation. This made me smile and was interesting to read. All the best, Laura

That's an odd pickup line to ask for Boone's Farm. I'm guessing that's an alcoholic beverage and you were wise to skedaddle out of there! Fun story. It's always good to recognize a cousin.

Boone's Farm was a popular cheap wine that a lot of minors drank in the seventies.
Comment from Dolly'sPoems
I have no idea what a Boone's farm is? Is this a beer? Also if someone 'fish-tailed' what does that mean? Are these local sayings? These girls are probably heading for trouble with the way they are dressed and asking strangers for drinks, love Dolly x

I should have placed the setting in the 70s. Boone's Farm was a popular wine enjoyed by underage drinkers back then. Fishtailing is when the rear-end of a car slides from side to side as the rear tires spin during a lead-footed acceleration.

Thank you Bill for explaining these phrases, I am learning so much! The youngsters here used to drink Bulmer?s cider! Love Dolly x

Bill Schott your one-hundred-word story
Crazy Dates 3
Even if it was a cousin fish tail and call the red head aunt or uncle.
and being only sixteen don't have no right to ask for the cheapest wine

Had you not recognized your cousin in time, you and Billy Bob might have had some things in common. Come one Bill, what's a little Friday night fun between cousins? Some of us have done worse. Not me of course.

You two-headed kids here.
Comment from Sally Law
Good for you. I loved my cousins, but not in that way. None of us wanted to have two-headed babies.
Sending you my best today as always and a sigh of relief. Happy Thanksgiving too. ;))

Stay away from sixteen years old. You can get into trouble from dating them if they are not quite sixteen. You are on a roll. This is another good one. YOu can write a book called "Crazy dates."
Well done.

Ah ... Boone's Farm. Just saying the name brings back the tart-sweet taste going down the back of my throat. If I think too long about it I will be forced to remember the bitter, biting taste of on its reverse journey. My friend, if I remember, if it were dark and you couldn't see who was speaking, odds were it was your cousin.
