Ants are clever little bugs. I like the definition you have of them working together. They can bite if you get them on your skin; so don't get too close as they will invade your territory.

P.S. While these ants do bite humans, their bites are not deadly. However, they can become itchy and painful because of the substance called formic acid that is sprayed in their bites and enters the bloodstream through those bites. This will also create a raised mark that usually wears off after two to three days

Thank you for your thoughtful review - and wise words. Yes, their bites can be quite painful - I guess that's their self-defence (but it's not something that kiddies should copy, so I didn't include that bit!) Lol.

We Laws thrive on teamwork. We've had a family owned business for fourteen years. Still carrying the watermelon. Sending you my best for this delightful children's poem,

This kiddie poem, Great Work Team, is a neat poem that compares the classic example of the ants to the potential for kids to organize and work as a tem as well. Nice.

You made an inspired choice to have ants' behaviour to show teamwork, responsibility, teaching, sharing, and caring. I find ants fascinating to watch - they are such diligent workers in a well structured society. They even gather together to honour their dead and take the corpse away.

Yes, they are so very interesting - and children are always fascinated by them. So many lessons for children - and adults! Thanks so much for your great review. Appreciated.

This is so beautifully written, and with a great theme that tells us of the great example shown by the most socially successful creatures on earth, the ant. Yes, they work so hard for the common good. I love this skilfully written, and rhyme, in an easy, flowing form, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy. I am glad you enjoyed this one, and yes, we can all learn so much from these small insects - perhaps that is what little children appreciate as they watch them so intently. Many thanks for your good wishes too.

This is a great entry for the Motivational poem for children. I love the picture you have chosen. Ants can teach us a lot of lessons about co-operation and working together for the good of all.

A lovely poem with a lovely theme and what a great way to teach children to share and work together for an end result. We can all learn a lot from watching not only ants but animals in general. Thanks for sharing. Kooky.

Ants are truly fascinating. . .kids know that! They love ants too and love to watch them work as a team. I never quite thought of them in the way you pointed out but yes! This would make a great kids book. Best of luck to you in the contest.
