Very clever. You played by the rules, but didn't forget to add poetic devices such as alliteration and end rhyme and metaphor. How sweet of the narrator to take all the blame and suffer the consequences.

An Excellent and skillful loop poetry submission.
Rather than highlight the loop as the point of your poem, you let the words carry through to take responsibility and blame to make the loop seems effortless.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes,
Mary

Bill, this is very skilfully done, and the Loop poem suits your theme perfectly. Taking blame and responsibility for another's pain is a big deal, and you have likened it to being responsible for the way you single-handedly make decisions (and wear the cost) in a card game, like the game of life. A clever analogy. Best wishes for your entry in the Loop contest.

This Loop poem is very well written, and is also intriguing, leading the reader to speculate as to what the hurts were that the author felt responsible to bear the blame for, through his poem. This is in recognition of the fact that the situation itself may be imaginary; yet the truth of the matter resides in the mind of the author.

This is an excellent loop poem! It speaks of dealing cards metaphorically and I have yet to play a hand of cards that I have bet on so, it is hard for me to relate. Yet I wish you all the best for the loop poem contest and I hope you win, winner takes home all!

I like your Loop Poem. I like the quote
When we assign blame we are pointing the finger to who or what is responsible for a fault or for a wrong doing. We are trying to make others accountable. Blaming does not solve a problem it usually only makes people defensive."

Very good loop poem. It made perfect sense. You made the "loops" seem effortless. It does one's conscience good to take the blame even when it's not deserved. Good luck in the contest.

This is an excellent loop poem, where you have managed to have certain of the repetitions being alternative meanings of the same word (mind and resolved in particular stand out for this) - I am a sucker for this additional twist in the loop (once managed to do it for every repetition).

Bill - this is an interesting loop poem that touches on both shared responsibility and gallantry. Or am i reading to much into it? Stay well and enjoy the eclipse tonight - Jerry
