I must agree, what is true love? I does exist, but it's more in individual person(s) than a human propensity my wife is the closest human person I know to that concept, but it does exist, rare perhaps, but it's there, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Do you mean there's more to the love that comes after the surprised, exploratory kiss, the uplifting music and the credits start rolling?
Who knew?

"True love is never what it seems," because you married your lover and had to experience life with a partner. Wow! Does that make you wake up. But then, I'm married 50 years. It was true love after all. You poem is definitely thought provoking. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks, LJ. I'm married 56 years. Never looked back.

This poem goes straight to the point. It seems the speaker doesn't believe in true love. Definitely not a romantic.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Joan, you're hurting me. Now I've got to write something to show my true self.

Sorry to hurt your feelings. Sometimes it?s good to try to see and write from another?s point of view. Or have the poem have different meanings to different readers

A dose of cold water reality for those who try on love like an old leather glove that has softened with time. We find that the fingers do not fit the way we remember. Love it so complicated and fraught with disappointments. You have done well with these few words. I wish you well in the contest.

Thanks, Sherry. "An old leather glove, softened with time." I think you've got a poem started there.

What a profound and true poem, I think we all hope and pray for true love and for some it may come fact but somehow I doubt it nice short and to the point poem. Kooky

Hello Friend,
Nice piece of 'Humor Poetry' meeting the desired norms, having smooth flow with lovely rhyming scheme, and you have intentionally left the theme ( True Love? ) Undisclosed. Here lies the beauty.
Picture enhances depth and beauty of the poem.
BEST OF LUCK in the contest.

You nailed it. Tomes have been written on the subject of love vs infatuation but you said it all in two lines. Sugg: make use of subtitle rather than repeat title.

OMG! My mouth literally dropped open at the last line. It was so unexpected and a true guilty pleasure. I'm still shaking my head and laughing to myself as I write this. Well Written, Well Done.

True love takes time. . .time to learn, time to give, time to share, time to weep. True love is never a short experience. Best of luck with this piece.
