This certainly will be identified with by the reader. It becomes a universal poem. I was just thinking, when we write we want to take the reader somewhere too. You did. You have us sitting, enjoying our favorite book. Clever.

Thank you. What a nice thing to say.

A lovely interpretation for the Pix Ths Club, Yvonne, as you concentrate on the book in her hand, and all the different adventures that they take her on. Nicely done,
cheers,
valda

Thank you. I love books!

What a delightful poem Yvonne,
I've often thought of the places I've gone because of books and being able to read. What a blessing. Thank God as well for people who can write and make those adventures come to life.
Have a blessed evening.

You're right. We can places we'd never be able to go otherwise, and be someone else for a while. Thanks for reviewing.

I love the rhyme and rhythm of this poem. I think the poem would be a good one in a magazine or book for youing people. It sounds like encouragement to get people to read. I needed no encouragement when I was young. It was my favorite way to spend time. The youth of today probably don't read unless forced to by their teachers.

I've always love to read, too. Fortunately, my sons and grandchildren love it, too. However, the young ones spend a LOT of time on phones and such, too. Thanks, Beth.

This is an absolutely perfect poem. If I still had a classroom, I would put it on the bulletin board with lots of book covers around it. Outstanding work.

Damommy, I'm back, and I was so happy to see your name and that you're still here. I enjoyed reading your picture-this poem. I could feel the wonder within, and it made me smile from the first verse to the last. I especially liked:
Today, I sailed on pirates' ship,
those outlaws of the sea.
I climbed the sheets in heavy wind
to set the mainsail free.
(Wow! Now that's what I call an adventure)
Good rhyming scheme. A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

You are right, reading we can do and go to distant lands. It's a great entertainment. Your poem fits the picture well.

Thank you. I've traveled places with books I would never get to go.

I don't know where I may go next -
depends on what I read.
A new adventure waits for me.
A book is all I need.
I liked this poem a lot. The meter and the rhyme are superb. The last stanza struck home. Very apropos. The trick for me is to find that author I can resonate with and just can't put down.
Excellent poem.

I see you love books as much as I do. I have some special authors that I read the same book again and again. 8-). Thanks for reviewing.

I love this, you are someone after my own heart:
"I don't know where I may go next -

A book is all I need."
I can't imagine not having books to read, and being able to travel all over the world through their pages.

This is another good one. I try to escape into a book whenever I get a chance, but since I joined this site, my reading has become less and less. Great picture.
