At first it made me think of those who "bury their heads in the sand", not wanting to believe something might go wrong. But then "puppy love" took over and it made me think of how they trust that we will make everything be alright. Awesome.

Thanks, Carol. Puppy love is the best.

Our cat just hides under the sink. Animals have more common sense. Little chickadees manage to survive winter blizzards, while humans are crashing in 13 car pileups on icy highways. No wonder they laugh at us!

Thanks, June. Under the sink is good.

This is a jolly good poem penned by you on the pet. Nurturing, attentive, and always up for playtime, dogs are a quintessential part of human life, and we can't picture our lives without at least one. I love the poem and the accompanying painting. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks, Meia. My mother-in-law used to be right under the bed with the dog.

Hello Paul Mcfarland,
Nice piece of Humor Poetry having lucid as well as perfectly matching the theme phraseology, enchanting flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme, and beautifully depicting its theme.
2nd stanza and its 'last two lines' are particularly noteworthy.
Picture enhances depth and beauty of the poem.
Interesting Indeed!

This one made me smile, Paul. The first to know are the birds, but the dogs always seem to feel the difference inthe atmosphere when there's a storm coming. Well written from the dog's POV.
Cheers

Thanks, Pearl. If I let the canary out, it would probably be under the bed with the dog.

You did a great job and yours is the first to see a poem for this contest prompt. I like the humor as the dog may feel safe but he still goes under the bed! Best wishes in the contest!

Yes, that's precisely what a dog or cat would do. I really liked the poem that you wrote through the eyes of a little dog. The artwork you chose is great also. Good job!
