Animals, especially dogs are smart enough to sense the severity of an incoming storm and thereby take appropriate action. If to dog is not too anxious, the human should also calm down a bit and not freak out. However, if the dog is freaking out, you may be headed for a greater degree of difficulty.

Thanks, Pookie. In my case, it was a spur of the moment entry.

This is a fun poem and I like how the dog is positive that everything is going to be alright. You have a smooth poetic flow of words and lines. "They're all just losing their head" is a great line.

Thanks for the review. Dogs usually have a positive outlook on life unless they are abused, and this happens all too often.

This is a cute poem. I dog sit my father-in-law's Tibetan Spaniel one summer and he was terrified of thunder. I was told to put him in a closet so he would feel safe, but he snarled and bit me whenever I tried to do as instructed. When it wasn't storming, he was lovely.

Thanks, Mary. All those Tibetans were mistreated by the Chinese, so that's probably why he is ugly.

I didn't know that. You're welcome.

Paul McFarland I had to smile about what does a dog do when there is a storm brewing is the normal reaction find a place to hide. Just picture five Siberian Huskies trying to hide under a bed

Thanks, Gert. There are a few breeds that would have a tough time getting under the bed.

This made me smile. The imagery is made special by the image, yet does not overpower.
A nice little one to smile to.
Have a good week.
Best wishes.

Thanks for the review. I smiled quite a bit, myself, as I wrote this.

Your verse is well written, and a good entry for the contest. Animals just trust their masters to look after them, and a find a good place to hide when the storm comes.

Thanks, Anne. Some masters are looked after by the dog.

An entry that is actually funny, inducing laughter through subtlety rather than spelling it out. This sounds like exactly what a dog would do. The in only thing that sticks out for editing is "their head"; I think you are right to preserve the rhyme by avoiding the plural but you might try something like *each one losing their head* to lessen the singular/plural bump. But your work is good even as it is now! Thanks for the fun read!

Love this one! You have nailed a dog's reaction perfectly. The only other way the dog may react is to sit in my lap the during the storm. Well written. I enjoyed it a great deal.

Thanks for the review. It's a toss-up between the lap or under the bed.
