This is a busy poem! I got tired just reading all that you have to do before winter sets in. The most important to me would be the chocolate and ice cream, and extra insulin LOL Good luck with the contest.

Thanks for stopping by! Yes, indeed, busy times. Next week we shall cover packing the RV properly with chips, salsa, margo-makings, swimwear, beach chairs and plenty of golf balls. Fall is a busy time for me.

To answer the question I usually read the notes. Frequently they add to the meaning. Sometimes they give me new poetry forms to use.

A neat, homey poem. A listing of chores to accomplish and an open end for those yet to be reminded of. The language is conversational and lends to a friendly feel. The rhyme pattern is consistent. The conclusion is a nice wrap.

Thanks for a good read.

Well, I sure hope I made you smile - that is always my main goal. But, I'm glad you found it a good read. Now, how are your preps for winter coming?

I live in AZ so my prep is making sure I have long pants clean for when the days cool off a bit more. And you are welcome.

ah, yes, winter to you is a shaved ice. Nice! Golly we love Sedona! What a beautiful place. We "camp" there in our motorhome. Returning in May from home in SE Texas...

This poem makes the reader ponder what getting ready for winter is like for the average farmer, especially one who's getting old and must do most of the work with no help. You bring the Speaker to life, and it's nice to know he's still married and not alone. Rod

Easy for you to say! Seriously, after 44 years, I get more warmth from the whiskey and central heat, but it is nice to share the chill. Thanks for stopping by and have a fun winter.
