A nice presentation for the poem. The gray edged picture reminds me of the old black edged cards for funerals.
A solemn and thought provoking poem. It reflects both the loss of a life and the rending of another. The black dress could be a metaphor for grieving.
Thanks for a good read, as always.

Gypsy,
This seems like she is getting ready for a death that is, sadly, expected. The last line could be both about sewing the dress and keeping her emotions in check.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Just splendid senryu! It is apropos to the picture and deeply sad. You truly have a knack for these Japanese forms and lead readers to love them also. Extraordinary is this one, though sad and brought a tear to my old eye.

I like the picture. I didn't remember when was the last time I used a seeing machine.
Sewing a black dress for the funeral is sad. Condolences...
Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant. So different from the rest of the themes. The satori line is a super wordplay. The 3-lines tell a story about a woman who has lost her supportive husband and now has to face the cruel world all be herself! Thanks for sharing.!

OMG! This is a skillful blend of sorrow and subtle humour. If you hadn't labelled it fiction I would have been in tears. As it is I am just in awe of your talent (this is one of your finer ones to my mind - I think I identify with Senryus the best)
