I loved your story and the beautiful picture of the waterfall. What a lovely memory. We have visited many over the years but none so great as your Niagara Falls. Even so, the little ones can bring the best memories. Thanks for sharing Franky

Love the memory and understand the inability to remember the name! The imagery is great and the picture just enhanced it. I could almost hear the ripple of the water over the rocks. Great contest entry. Good luck. ann

    It is a pretty place and I imagine generations of kids have - may still have - the fun of sliding down them.

It is a beautiful waterfall, and you have described it well, along with your experiences there. Your memories of the experiences are intact and special even if you forget the name of the waterfall. Best wishes for your entry.

    My memory comes and goes in spurts, it seems. There are times I remember some obscure thing and it kind of makes up for the rest.

There are a couple places locally that look a lot like this and reminded ME of some great times playing in some ice-cold water running over and around rocks and providing a thousand opportunities for sliding, jumping, swimming, you name it. Such fun! Thanks for the reminder and good luck!

The waterfalls sound like it would be a great find and special in your hearts. I can't imagine sliding down a waterfall of any size. You describe it well and I can picture two girls going over the falls and in the end two ruined bathing suits. I'm sure the loss of the bathing suits was a small price to pay for a memory that has lasted you a lifetime. Good luck with the contest.

    it was a gradual slope and some moss on the rock, but it WAS cold!

Hello Author,

I enjoyed this story. That waterfall and those excursions were obviously very special to you. I doubt that I would have been brave enough to jump into that icy water so kudos to you and your youthful bravery.

The story is written well and it's very descriptive. The pace is good and it's obvious that you enjoyed penning and remembering.

Unfortunately, due to the degradation of our environment, it would probably be unsafe to swim there now. So hang onto those memories.

I lived in North Carolina with my abuser. It was lovely. You have given us a sweet story of bathing suits and beauty. There are some places we seem never to forget, even if we misplace the name for a moment. I wish you the best of luck in this contest.
