Still trying to catch up...this chapter has some exciting twists. Way to go, Sally! :-)

Not too sure about this edit:
The sound of a diesel....The man appeared to be older, with a comb-over hairstyle, impeccably dressed, and carried a brief (briefcase?) under his arm.

A signed confession from a criminal. It sounds like the suspense might come to an end. Will the calla lily painting be solved finally? It depends if the painting is found.

Hi Sally, I realised I'd missed this chapter when it was too late, so I decided to wait with the review until today when I could give it credit. It's wonderfully written an is a mix of a con trying to play a game, and the finding of true love. A hug. Ulla xxx

Well, now what? Whoever it was that killed Izard, has obviously written that note, and Mike Lembowsky has just put two and two together. He needs to get to Marie's house asap!! Excellent chapter, and what a way to end it! Well done, my friend. Hugs and love, Sandra xx

This is a great mystery writing my dear: First, Mr. Death wanting to give him a ride, reminded me of a scene in The Twilight Zone, then a mysterious doctor. Great chapter.

Love your work Grammy. It was a compelling read, that was easy to understand. (Even though I have not read the other chapters) Wish you the best in your future writing.

Yours Truly,
Joshua Law

First, a visit from the Grim Reaper, in the previous chapter. And now, we are being left in total suspense, in this chapter 25! Here, we have one mystery after another, and I do believe you are developing a true flair for the dramatic!
Tony Alfanzi is being taken off to parts unknown, by a mysterious doctor, to meet an even more mysterious Mr. Whitehead. Meanwhile, we've got a secret message from the deceased Izard to Camille/Olivia! This is getting really good!
I love Alfanzi's idea about a "highfalutin lawyer," that's very funny. I must have missed something when it came to Marie Osmond's Ten Commandments of eating -- I do believe she's the Weight Watcher's poster girl, but I was unaware that she also offered absolution. That pecan pie does sound delicious! I'll have a slice of that.

Thank you for the wonderful review and super stars, dear one. I am so very blessed. I just returned from Georgia where pecan pie was all around me. I couldn?t have any though because it was a gluten-free. I always seem to have food in here, it must be part of my subconscious. Sending you my best today and love and blessings always,

You're so very welcome, sweet friend. You're in my prayers, for sure. I hope Suzy is managing okay. I didn't realize that you need a gluten-free diet. That must be a kind of torment, when you're surrounded by Southern cooking! Hopefully it's not as bad in Florida, where you may have a heavy New York influence -- both for Northern cuisine, and an awareness of people who need gluten-free cooking.
Is there any such thing as gluten-free pecan pie? I hope so. You've got me thinking about food now, lol. And we don't do any cooking in here. We recently became the beneficiaries of a program called, "God's Love, We Deliver." So we can eat the delivered food cold (if it can be eaten cold) or warmed in the microwave. They give us 5 days of lunch, dinner and dessert (dessert usually being applesauce or other preserved fruit, plain cakes in limited amounts) and one breakfast. We had been spending too much on takeout-- money we can?t afford. The other two days, and breakfasts, we can buy soups, cold cuts, eggs to microwave, cereal, Glucerna for diabetics ... this delivered food is a blessing! You have to have a health condition, but we both do, so we qualify. Praise God! But I still want some pecan pie :-)
God bless you and keep you 🙏
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Hmmm...I wonder who killed Izard and left evidence pinned to his gown. Maybe the letters aren't real. I'd think the reason for killing him would be to shut him up.
