Excellent continuation of an excellent story. I'm still rooting for our heroine and her embattled people. It really makes me want to know what's coming next in the saga. References to Karsa's sister keep her alive and actively involved in the fight in spite of her imprisonment. I like the introduction of Diores and wonder what he's up to. Can he be trusted? As always, your characters are wonderfully drawn, sympathetic, and worth reading about.

Yes, yes, yes, this is the one I was really getting into before your switch to the World-making fantasy (which was also good). It's good to have this back. I still cannot help but make a comparison to Hemingway's Spanish resistance literature. You have a very crisp and accurate description. Who could ask for more?

Your imagery is alive and well-written. I couldn't help feeling the world you created has a lot of similarities to the one we are in at the present. "the bloody battles for street corners, the crunch of broken glass and crack of broken bones" those words artfully crafted. Also loved the title!
