I am thankful, too. We do not evacuate and lost power just as Ida turned and hit us. We were without power for two weeks. Alive though, and roof in tact. Bless God!

I've never been down to that area of the south, but would like to visit one day. We didn't have hurricanes in San Francisco when I was growing up. We did, however, have our share of earthquakes, of course. I enjoyed your poem. Thanks.
