It seems as if every time something goes wrong we need a scapegoat... someone to blame it on and now conveniently it is the Covid virus. Our shelves are getting empty again and people blame it on the virus...actually they have stacks and stacks of boxes filled with items in the backroom... but it's easier to say our shipments are late than to go open the boxes and put it on the shelf. That would mean someone had to work... too many have got used to not working and collecting money for not doing it.

Another great episode in the coronavirus saga. The frustrations never seem to end. Empty shelves, no Christmas gifts, and more mouths to feed. It never seems to end. And I loved the part where you say Santa Claus doesn't even know you exist. That really hammers home the sense of isolation, of being shut up cut off from the life outside in the street and the wide world. And what little magic it has left. estory

I understand that part of our shortages is do to the ports. California has a law that truckers must be unionized and the unionized truckers are mandated to be vaccinated. There are privately owned truckers there but aren't allowed to do the job. Also dock workers need to be vaccinated. Some ships are leaving port and going to Texas and Florida to unload because they are more reasonable. We can thank our government for the blank shelves.

The virus is responsible for so much that it is probably getting blamed for things that have nothing to do with it. I've noticed, again, a lack of toilet paper. I guess the shipments from overseas are sitting in the harbor with no truck drivers to unload it. I hope you enjoyed your expensive trip. I also hope your new fur baby gets well.

I don't think your dear cat has the cat equivalent of Covid dear Iza, I must admit, I haven't seen any shortages lately, only toilet rolls and hand sanitiser, but only at the beginning of the pandemic, well done Iza, blessings Roy

Coronella - Hilarious! I recently stayed at a luxury hotel that wasn't as luxurious as it was two years ago when I last stayed there. Yup, almost without exception everything that went wrong was blamed on Covid-19.
I think we will be living with Coronella for years to come.

Well Written, Well Done.

Welcome back! I hope you had a good vacation--it sucks that Coronella still rules--you concisely express your frustration--congrats on the new addition!

You have a BIG heart to take in another kitty! And yes, isn't it shocking that everything revolves around Coronella? It used to be if we got a cold, we said - Eh, it's just a cold. But now everything makes us think we might die.

Santa Klaus doesn't (Santa Claus) - I know - it's just changed to C when it entered English, from Saint Niklaus. Oh well.

This is a lesson in excuses. Where causation is expanded beyond real to hyperbole. Unfortunately this is also happening in the real world.

The pace is good. The language is appropriate to the subject. The humor has an edge. The piece stays on point.

Thanks for a good read.
