Well you may have had to bunker down for a couple of months but you still have a sense of humor. I enjoyed this little comical poem that conveys that you can still be down and out and continue to make others get a giggle!

Katharine,

Good for you. Well, I mean, at least you're THINKING about exercise. Right? That's the first step. How many of the rest of us don't even have it on our To Do List? hahahaha

Thanks!

This is funny and charming. Those things we should do are so boring. But you got yourself to write this poem - not a bad accomplishment at all. Be strong, it won't last forever.

    Hi, Sherry
covid was indeed a monster. you'd think a little exercise wouldn't be too big a price to pay, and here I am, putting it off. Gotta shape up!
thanks for your kind words and encouragement.

Procrastination... a true buddy especially when we aren't totally up to par. Our "thinkers" find ways to justify our decisions and of course, that sip of wine will bolster your thoughts to get back to normal... or maybe not! So perfect for all of us... Get well soon!~

Hugs, Carol

I'm doing well except for my blasted hand and arm, but what a relief to be over Covid! My daughter came down from Austin and took care of me and literally saved my life, bless her.
I've missed my FS friends and it's good to be back.
    Thanks again for your comments!

cute new picture, Dolly, except can't see your pretty face.
yep, need to get on that bike. Have decided a good time is when I'm on the phone with family - usually long conversations - I talk and just peddle away.
thanks for reading and for smiling at my guilt.

Hello Katherine,
I was wondering where you were. I hadn't seen anything from you for a bit, and I didn't really think you ran out of things to write about. Sorry to hear about your troubles, I hope you're on the mend. I really enjoyed your humorous poem. My sense of humor has gotten me through some pretty sticky situations. Heal up gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

muchas gracias, Senor! Am much better, except for hand & arm, but getting there. So many things we need both hands for. At least I'll have "witchy hair" for Halloween, (and no check writing)
Thanks again for your very kind note.

This reminds me of some of the writers on the site who've suffered broken wrists and other ailments. It's amazing that they still keep on writing. If you're housebound for a while, you definitely need something to get out of that rut. Don't drink too much wine or you'll fall off the bike! I enjoyed this highly. I's great to be able to make light of an unfortunate situation. Great rhyme in this and a pleasure to read. judi

thanks, Judy, for your very kind words. It's fun to be back on Fan Story.
So many things need both hands. 2 months without cutting my hair - perfect look for Halloween!
You have been prolific, as usual - I see I have a lot of catching up with you, to do. looking forward to it.
We were 85 degrees again today. Am ready for COOL.
    Glad to hear from you!

Hi Katharine :)
I really enjoyed reading this.
It's light and playful, despite you having every reason to feel grumpy. I hope you're ok.... so you had covid too huh? Same here, all five of us. I hope you recovered well. We're all ok, although my husband still has no energy, a month later.
I love the last stanza, particular the closing line... I don't believe for a second that you kept your promise!
Take care, Debra :)

    hi, Debra!
I'm with your husband - it has taken me a month to get sort of back to normal. Glad you all got through it okay. Bet you really had your hands full.
ha! you know me too well. but I do get on it when my sister, who is long winded, calls from S.C. I feel so righteous.
It's great to hear from you!
    You take care, too.

Nice poem, and I fully understand about life trials and procrastination about exercising. The poem was easy to read. I didn't see any errors. You did a great job. Have a fantastic afternoon. Shirley

    Thanks, Shirley.
Have been away from FS a long time. (seems like it, anyway)
    It's fun being back.
Exercising is a whole 'nother ball game, however.
    Thanks for your kind remarks.

I laughed out loud when I read your delightful poem. I have to admit, that procrastination is one of my faults. I'm putting off cleaning my desk by reading poetry and writing reviews. I've promised myself all week that I'll get my desk cleaned and I will do it before I go to bed. At least I hope so. Maybe. :~)

procrastination is my middle name. I know what you mean about your desk. I guess mine is under there, somewhere.
Did you stick to your guns?
reply by Mary Shifman on 25-Oct-2021
You are welcome. No, unfortunately I have to do it today! :~)
