Well done, dear Jay. I have always loved your poem, the lessons therein which only age could teach. There are always a great deal to learn from your writings. Thanks for sharing your inspirations, as I join you to pray for a fulfilling ending. Lol.

Hello Jaybird,

What a beautiful personal poem about your life? It's beautifully written and the rhymes are great. May you reach 100 and beyond in your wheels of life!!

This one makes me sad, I think that most of us at FanStory have lived past our prime. I know that I have. I don't feel like I am living on borrowed time, but I probably am. I like your choice of the word "serve" in your poem. It indicates that you see life as time given to do something constructive, more like a servant than a landlord. That such a wonderful attitude toward life. It gives it meaning.
I like your rhymes and your line length is consistent. Nice work. I am glad that I read your poem.

Beautiful. You express the ups and downs of your life on this earth while you await the final call. At the same time you ask for His presence and peace as you approach that final call. Beautifully expressed.

Oh, dear JayBird! What a lovely and somber piece about something we all must face. I, too, dread the day. But I have faith we will not die. Our bodies will rest for a time, but we will keep living and, hopefully, writing! Sending love and good wishes your way!

'Wheels of Life', is an exceptionally well-written and deftly descriptive piece. It was a privilege to both read and review this talented poet's work.
To me this is definitely a six. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I really like this poem! I like how it rhymes and the rhythm is great. The content of the poem sounds like how I feel sometimes. The older I get the more I think about it. I remember when my mom talked about how old she looked and how she was coming to the end of life. And she wasn't that old. She lived many more years. When I think about myself I know now what she meant. Great poem!

Another well written and touching poem. I too am up in years and share the same thoughts as you. Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone. I appreciate you very much.

Hi Jay,

What an astute poem about one who has lived wisely and for many years. I wish I could sit at your knee and listen to your tales, Jay. It would be an eye opening experience for sure. But I will have to be content to read your treasure trove of verse...thanks for that.

This poem is humble and reflective. I love your closing lines ...

" In closing I ask the powers that be-
Walk along this long, lonely road with me."

Isn't that all of our wish, Jay? Not to be abandoned and alone? Your excellent poem brought a universal desire to be cherished and loved throughout our time on this earth. Even as we transition to the here after, we would wish that the hand of God not loosen His hold on us but to carry us all the way home.

All the very best,
Senyai
