While the facts are different I could not help but think of Gabby Petito--
Her image splayed across our screens, young and innocent, sweet smile...and strangled to death in the wild-- Particularly this comes to mind for me as news that her fiance's body may well have been found.
How many times has this story retold itself? Despite news to the contrary the power balance is not equal between the sexes. "Like a doll with broken parts." -- An especially effective image rendered!

It is timely that this poem coincides with Gabby's demise. It must be so horrific to die a violent death. And yet these crimes continue to happen. So much more than inequality; it is simply the issue of violence. Our society is sick.

I like this poem. It reads like a Law and Order show but posed
in poetry. Nicely rhymed, suspenseful in the storyline told and
sad at the end. Not a way to live or die. The picture itself allows
the reader to take the spider's web as a web or lies and being in a
sticky situation. Good job. I enjoyed this interesting piece.

Very good rhyme and meter. A well told tragic tale. The last two lines really saved the poem for me. When reading your poems, I'm always looking for a few more lines to tie things together.
