Hi Annie,
I also counted 98 words. That would have been scary to find out the toddler was missing. She obviously didn't know how much grief she had caused.
My wife's youngest brother hid in a barrel as a kid, and didn't come out while everyone was in a desperate search for him. Some even kicked through the pond at the end of the street in case he had drowned somehow. Of course, everyone was relieved when he finally crawled out. But he was warned to never pull a stunt like that again. They were ready to call the police when he showed himself.

I sure she was fun to be around. She knew everyone was looking for her because I sure everyone was calling her but as you say she was mischievous and she was waiting to see how long it would take for someone to find her. Cute flash story.

Some children are just so good at hiding! Including one of my granddaughters (only two years old) who didn't make a sound for about twenty minutes while I hunted for her, calling out. Well written story. Best wishes for your entry.

What a nightmare for your parents. She was not only an escape artist but she was as silent as a cat and as limber. I think given enough time, she would have called out for help! Thanks for sharing. I liked the "Cheshire cat grin." Best wishes in the contest!
