Ciao poet, you have your first vote!
I remember you wrote about Walden Pond before but I needed to refresh my mind ..
Henry David Thoreau naturalist lived for two years in a cabin he built in the wilderness living off the land ( growing his own veggies) and the resource it offered.
I am convinced it must have been a great cleansing experience of the soul. .. there is much to learn from Mother Nature .. the day we started to live in cement jungles is the day we started to die inside.
Thank you for introducing this Naturalist to me.

Tempeste,
Thoreau had some baggage. His ideas and philosophy had its flaws. But he lived in a time where his experiment made sense to many.
Do always appreciate your support for my poems and your votes. As you may or may not know, it was my contest idea. I am hopeful that with all the entry slots filled that FanStory might sponsor a future contest along my idea.

I think it was a great idea and hope it will become a recurring contest theme like the one for films, trees , flowers .
It?s late here must go back to sleep. Buonanotte Marco! ( biggrin)
Keep safe!

Even if this were not one of my favorite places on earth to visit. Even if I did not love Thoreau's "Walden"--even after I'd read that he was quite the hypocrite and frequented town much more than one would think, when reading his transcendentalist writing back in eleventh grade. I'd still vote for this one. It's clever, it's witty, it's original...and ya know what? I love walking in the woods!

Karen ins,
Wow, what a positive review you gave me.
I have never visited Walden Pond, but like you visited Thoreau in high school. Walking in the woods on a crisp autumn day is a spectacular feeling. The tree colors paint those surroundings.
Thoreau like other famous historical and literature had baggage!

So true! Authors are human and seldom live up to their legend...
I do love Walden Pond though...I went metal detecting there and found a very old soup spoon...
Maybe Thoreau's!?

Mother Nature is so inspirational. Walden's pond is a thing of beauty and you honor the place with your beautiful words. I have never been there and your picture allowed me to see its wonder.

This looks like a beautiful and calm place to visit.
The photo used is stunning. I like that this short
piece allowed me to have a transcendental visit.
I would never have seen this place otherwise.

I have read a lot of Thoreau's work but I have never been to Walden's Pond. It sounds as if you enjoyed it very much. I enjoyed the poem and the clever signature. Good luck in the contest.

What a beautiful place. It reminds me of a lot of places here in Michigan. I can see where a visit to this spot would give a person inspiration. Your writing is clear and concise with perfect artwork to compliment what you wrote. Well done. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

These scenes are duplicated across our great country. I favor the fall colors in my northeastern part. THANKS for your review of my contest entry.

It looks so very calm there with the impeccable image giving it that double take on the artwork that gives a brightness to the otherwise grey overcast day. Beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

I always wondered what Walden Pond looked like - thank you for using this picture. Your clever words bring depth to this as a presentation worthy of the competition. Your closing salutation is great.
